Today, the committee, including the project owner Hirono Town Officials, had meeting to review the current status of the public call in progress.
First of all, we would like to start by saying that the Hirono Town Officials are sincerely grateful for your applications. This was the first time that we had ever done international Open call and we did not expect so many great artists to be interested in Hirono and the project.
Thank you so much!
We received several more enquiries.
We’ve been getting a lot of calls about the contact form not working properly, but when I try it in Japan on Windows 11 with Chrome or Edge, it works normally. Maybe it’s iOS? I’ll ask a staff member who uses an iPhone to try it.
Illness, injury, war, disaster, etc.
There was also an enquiry about a period of years when the artist was unable to work as an artist due to some kind of illness, and whether they should write about it.
Yes. They should definitely write about that.
We are trying to be an inclusive art project. If there have been times when you have not been able to devote yourself to art for various reasons, if you can explain that in your CV or in the body of your email, we do compensation in the evaluation.
Date of the Final is fixed
The invited artists will be decided on 9 November. You will receive an email as soon as a decision is made.
We are also discussing whether to extend the deadline as the date of the finals has been extended a bit further than originally planned. Whether it will be extended or not is hard to say.
Finalists will be contacted via e-mail.
