Message from Minori

“This time, I made a soft sculpture in bird’s eye view (God’s eye view) of the scenery on the day of the TORIGOYA on 1/8/2024.

The smoke from the burning TORIGOYA and the snow clouds that hit the town of Hirono are combined into one and cover the ocean.

The white painted areas may remind some people of the snowy landscape of that day, while the contrast with the blue areas may make them imagine the Antarctic Continent.

Some may find the red and gray areas as TORIGOYA’s flame, while others may feel it is an expression of low pressure.

I have been created several works on the theme of “snow,” but this is the first time I have added the element of the “sea” to them. I think I was able to create this expression only because I spent time in Hirono Town. I hope you will look at my works and interpret them in various ways and remember the snowy landscape of January 8, 2024.”
