日頃より、広野町アーティスト・イン・レジデンス（以下「広野町AIR」）へのご支援、ご協力、そして温かいご声援を賜り、心より御礼申し上げます。
さて、表題の件につきまして、このたび応募者の中から鈴木紅璃氏（東京藝術大学先端芸術表現科３年次）を追加で広野町AIRの招聘アーティストとしてお迎えすることといたしました。
以下に、その経緯についてご説明いたします。
今回で３回目となる広野町AIRでは、国内外の他のAIR事例を参考に、「企画提案書」に加えて「アーティストの経歴」や「広野町に関するエッセイ」も審査対象としています。「アーティストの経歴」を重視するのは、参加者の創作レベルを保つことに加え、「今後も継続的にアーティスト活動を行っていく方」を招聘したいという考えによるものです。そのため、これまで学生アーティストが選出されることはなく、優れた学生アーティストから多数の応募をいただきながらも、結果として選考外となるケースが続いておりました。
一方で、広野町では広野町AIRとは別に、大学生を対象としたインターンシップ事業を毎年実施しています。この事業は、大学生に広野町への関心を持ってもらい、将来的な移住・定住へとつなげることを目的とした取組みです。実際に、インターンシップを通じて広野町を訪れた学生が、休暇中に再び町を訪れたり、移住を検討するなどの成果も生まれています。
広野町AIRもまた、アーティストとの交流を通じて、将来的には「広野町と他地域を行き来しながら制作活動を行う」いわゆる二地域居住の実現を目指す取組みでもあります。
今回、鈴木氏は「企画提案書」において全応募者の中で最高得点を獲得し、「広野町のエッセイ」も高い評価を受けました。一方で、大学３年生という立場上、「アーティストの経歴」については得点が低く、総合得点ではわずかに上位３名に及びませんでした。しかし、広野町の移住・定住に関する方針および広野町AIRの目的を総合的に検討した結果、鈴木氏を第４の招聘アーティストとしてお迎えすることを決定いたしました。
なお、鈴木氏の追加招聘によって、既に選出されている石倉かよこ氏、Roy Taro氏、キム・ソンベク氏の滞在条件（宿泊日数や往復交通回数など）が変更・減少することは一切ございません。

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support, cooperation, and warm encouragement of the Hirono Artist-in-Residence program (hereinafter referred to as “Hirono Town AIR”).
Regarding the above matter, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Akari Suzuki (a third-year student in the Department of Intermedia Art, Tokyo University of the Arts) has been selected as an additional invited artist for the Hirono AIR program.
The following explains the background of this decision.
This is the third year of the Hirono Town AIR program, and based on other domestic and international AIR programs, we have included “artist’s resume” and “essay on Hirono Town” in addition to the “project proposal” as part of the selection criteria. The emphasis on the “artist’s resume” is to maintain the artistic level of the participants and to invite artists who will continue their artistic activities in the future. Therefore, until now, no student artists have been selected, and despite receiving numerous applications from excellent student artists, they have consistently been excluded from the final selection.
On the other hand, Hirono Town also conducts an annual internship program for university students, separate from the Hirono AIR program. This program aims to encourage university students to become interested in Hirono Town and to connect them to future relocation and settlement in the town. In fact, some students who visited Hirono Town through the internship program have revisited the town during their vacations or are considering relocating there.
The Hirono AIR program also aims to realize a so-called “two-region residency” where artists create their work while moving between Hirono Town and other regions, through interaction with the artists.
This time, Ms. Suzuki received the highest score among all applicants for her “project proposal” and also received a high evaluation for her “essay on Hirono Town.” However, due to her status as a third-year university student, her score for “artist’s resume” was low, and her overall score was slightly below the top three. However, after comprehensively considering Hirono Town’s policies regarding relocation and settlement and the objectives of the Hirono AIR program, we have decided to invite Ms. Suzuki as the fourth invited artist. Furthermore, the addition of Mr. Suzuki to the program will in no way alter or reduce the residency conditions (such as the number of nights of accommodation or the number of round-trip journeys) for the already selected artists, Kayoko Ishikura, Roy Taro, and Kim Sung-baek.
